Sec. 3. (Changed edition, Amendment No. 2).

4. TEST METHODS

4.1. The performance of the keys is checked using test torques. The keys are tested on a test bench. Open-jaw wrenches are mounted with their jaws on a mandrel that has a regular hexagonal shape in cross-section. The nominal dimensions of hexagonal mandrels must be equal to the minimum male turnkey dimensions of normal accuracy according to GOST 6424.

The load should be applied to the end of the handle at a distance of no more than 50 mm from its end in the direction coinciding with the direction of retraction of the movable jaw.

Mandrel hardness - 53 ... 57 HRC e.

During testing, the torque value should gradually increase to the values indicated in the table. 3. Keys must withstand at least three loads.

After testing, the keys should not have any residual deformation and should be suitable for further work.

(Changed edition, Amendment No. 2).

4.1a. Reliability tests of keys must be carried out on testing devices or stands, under the test conditions specified in clause 4.1. In this case, the test results are considered satisfactory if each of the controlled keys does not reach the limiting state.

(Introducedadditionally, Rev. No. 2).

4.3. The hardness of the keys is checked according to GOST 9013.

4.4. The surface roughness of keys is checked by comparison with roughness samples or profilometers (profilers).

4.5. Appearance Protective and decorative coatings are checked visually.

4.6. The quality of galvanic coatings is checked according to GOST 9.302.

(Introducedadditionally, Rev. No. 1).

5. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

Transportation and storage of keys - in accordance with GOST 18088.

Sec. 5. (Changed edition, Amendment No. 2).

6. SAFETY

6.1. The design of the key should prevent the possibility of the movable jaw falling out when opening the jaw.

6.2. When using keys, it is not allowed to use additional levers or use a key with a jaw size larger than that indicated on the key.

(Changed edition, Amendment No. 2).

The hardness of the mandrels is 53...57 HRC.
During testing, the torque value should gradually increase to the values specified in Table 3. The keys must withstand at least three loads.
After testing, the keys should not have any residual deformation and should be suitable for further work.
(Changed edition, Amendment No. 2).

4.1a. Reliability tests of keys must be carried out on testing devices or stands under the test conditions specified in clause 4.1. In this case, the test results are considered satisfactory if each of the controlled keys does not reach the limiting state.
(Introduced additionally, Amendment No. 2).

4.2. Linear dimensions are checked using universal or special measuring instruments.

4.3. The hardness of the keys is checked according to GOST 9013.

4.4. The surface roughness of keys is checked by comparison with roughness samples or profilometers (profilers).

4.5. The appearance of protective and decorative coatings is checked visually.

4.6. The quality of galvanic coatings is checked according to GOST 9.302.

4.2-4.6. (Introduced additionally, Amendment No. 1).

5. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

Transportation and storage of keys - in accordance with GOST 18088.

6. SAFETY

6.1. The design of the key should prevent the possibility of the movable jaw falling out when opening the jaw.

6.2. When using keys, it is not allowed to use additional levers or use a key with a jaw size larger than that indicated on the key.
(Changed edition, Amendment No. 2).
Section 7. (Deleted, Amendment No. 2).
